JULIE SCHUBERT
Emmy Award winning Casting Director, Julie Schubert, comes from a very special casting legacy - she was trained by Juliet Taylor and Ellen Lewis, proteges of the famed matriarch of casting, (and subject of the 2012 documentary Casting By), Marion Dougherty. After an extensive apprenticeship with Juliet and Ellen, Julie began her career as a Casting Director. Some of her most notable credits as Casting Director include award winning series House of Cards, Luke Cage, and Daredevil. Julie is a sought after on-camera audition teachers, and has taught around the USA as well as internationally. She has a keen eye for authenticity and a vital sense of how to shape an audition based on what's on the page and the actor's energy. She is far less interested in the elusive idea of talent, and focuses on what makes each actor and audition interesting.
